CARACTERIZAÇÃO TÉRMICA DOS DERIVADOS DE FAVELONE (CNIDOSCOLUS QUERCIFOLIUS) POR TERMOGRAVIMETRIA E CALORIMETRIA DE VARREDURA DIFERENCIAL

Resumo

Uma análise térmica foi aplicada à caracterização de alimentos e produtos alimentícios. Levando em consideração os problemas de desertificação e práticas agrícolas capazes de gerar renda para a população do semi-árido nordestino, este trabalho apresenta os resultados da caracterização química, térmica e cinética por termogravimetria e calorimetria exploratória diferencial dos derivados de sementes do favelone (cnidoscolus quercifolius), visando a aplicação desses materiais como alternativa de fonte de alimento para animais e para a população humana nessa região brasileira.

THERMAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE FAVELONE DERIVATIVES (CNIDOSCOLUS QUERCIFOLIUS) BY THERMOGRAVIMETRY AND DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETRY

Abstract

A thermal analysis has been applied to characterization of food and food products. Taking into account the problems of desertification and agricultural practices able to provide income to the population at the semi-arid region of Northeastern Brazil this work presents the results of the chemical thermal and kinetic characterization by thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry of the seed derivatives of favelone (cnidoscolus quercifolius) aiming at the application of these materials as an alternative of food source for animals and for the human population at this brazilian region.

ESTUDO DA REMOÇÃO DE ÍONS METÁLICOS EM ÁGUA UTILIZANDO ZEÓLITAS SINTETIZADAS COM CINZAS DE CARVÃO

Resumo

A capacidade de zeólitos sintetizados da cinza de carvão brasileira para a remoção de íons metálicos de soluções aquosas foi investigada. Os dados de equilíbrio obtidos foram adequados para as isotermas de adsorção de Langmuir e Freundlich. O material zeolítico preparado com cinzas de carvão do filtro de bolsas mostrou as maiores eficiências de remoção. A seletividade de íons metálicos deste produto foi determinada como: Pb ²⁺ > Cd ²⁺ > Cu ²⁺ > Zn ²⁺ > Ni ²⁺ . As capacidades máximas de troca catiônica estavam entre 32,9 e 246,9 mg g ^-1 . Testes mostraram que o material zeolítico era adequado para a remoção de zinco do efluente de galvanoplastia.

STUDY OF REMOVAL OF METAL IONS IN WATER USING ZEOLITES SYNTHESIZED WITH CHARCOAL ASHES

Abstract

The capacity of synthesized zeolites from Brazilian coal ash for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solutions has been investigated. Equilibrium data obtained have been found to fit both the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The zeolitic material prepared with coal ash from baghouse filter showed the highest removal efficiencies. The metal ion selectivity of this product was determined as: Pb²⁺ Cd²⁺ Cu²⁺ Zn²⁺ Ni²⁺. The maximum cation exchange capacities were between 32.9 and 246.9 mg g^-1. Tests showed that the zeolitic material was suitable for removal of zinc from electroplating effluent.

ANÁLISE QUÍMICA E BROMATOLÓGICA DA FORRAGEM DA FAVELEIRA (CNIDOSCOLUS QUERCIFOLIUS)

Resumo

Este trabalho tem como objetivo explorar as potencialidades da faveleira (Cnidoscolus quercifolius) como forragem animal. O estudo de avaliação do potencial forrageiro da faveleira, pela quantificação da produção de parte aérea e raízes e sua análise bromatológica, define as partes da planta que podem ser recomendadas para a alimentação animal. Os resultados servirão para recomendação de planejamento, no campo, no momento do uso da planta, em relação à peça, que apresenta melhores características para a alimentação animal. Considerando as exigências nutricionais dos ruminantes, as diferentes partes da faveleira estudada mostraram, em relação à composição mineral e bromatológica, capaz de fornecer a dieta desses animais, na forma de ração, associando diferentes partes da planta.

CHEMICAL AND BROMATOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF FAVELEIRA FORAGE (CNIDOSCOLUS QUERCIFOLIUS)

Abstract

This work is aimed at exploring the potentialities of faveleira (Cnidoscolus quercifolius) as animal fodder. The study on evaluation of forage potential of faveleira by quantification of production of aerial part and roots and their bromatological analysis defines the plant parts that can be recommended for animal feeding. The results will serve for planning recommendation at field level at the time of the plant use in relation to the part which presents better characteristics for animal feeding. Considering the nutritional requirements of ruminants the different parts of the faveleira studied showed in relation to the mineral and bromatological composition capable of furnishing the diet of these animals in the form of ration associating different parts of the plant.

O PERFIL CONCEITUAL DE REAÇÕES QUÍMICAS

Resumo

Considerando-se as dificuldades observadas no ensino médio, numa escola da rede pública em Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brasil, para a análise da evolução conceitual dos estudantes sobre reações químicas, procurou-se pesquisar como suas idéias podem ser transformadas no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Pôde-se verificar o quanto a intervenção acadêmica foi capaz de contribuir para a melhoria do processo de ensino-aprendizagem, confirmando a hipótese de que a estrutura de análise e planejamento proposto privilegia a negociação das idéias sobre reações químicas, afinal todos tem espaço para falar.

THE CONCEPTUAL PROFILE OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS

Abstract

Considering the difficulties observed in high school of the public net in Viçosa Minas Gerais Brazil for the analysis the students conceptual evolution about chemical reactions it was researched that your ideas can be transformed in the process of teaching and learning. It can verify the amount that academic intervention is able to contribute to the improvement of the process of teaching and learning. This confirms the hypothesis that the structure of analysis and planning benefits the negotiation of the ideas about chemical reactions at last all have space to speak.
